Pilton keeve cider

If like me your drink preferences change over the course of the year through the summer and winter months, then cider is a summer must have, there is something about cider that just shouts out summer, whether it is a pub garden or festival stage, the refreshing taste just awakens the feeling you are having a great time.

This cider is made from a mix of delicious and sharp apples grown in the local area of Somerset. The apples are carefully chosen and pressed to get the perfect apple juice. the process of making cider is a mix of old and new ways, more so new nowadays as it is a lot more effective. The apples are pressed with a modern hydraulic press making sure to get every last drop of that golden goodness, and then the juice is fermented with wild yeasts that grow organically, The cider is then stored in wood barrels for at least six months, which lets the flavours grow and mature. This gives the cider a taste that is both unique and complex

Pilton is a dry cider that tastes crisp and clean. The cider is a light straw colour with a small haze. It smells like apple, lemon, and even a little bit of funk. On the tongue, the cider tastes tart and slightly sour, and its acidity is well-balanced, making it easy to drink, the natural sweetness of the apples balances out the cider's dryness, giving it a taste that is both rich and easy to enjoy. The light acidity in the cider makes it even more delicious. Like all cider, it tastes best when it is cold, and it goes well with cheese, cured meats, and pork meals. It's also a great cider to drink by itself, which makes it a great choice for social events and chilled Sunday afternoons

Pilton has won a lot of awards and praise for how well it is made. It won a gold prize at the International Cider Awards in 2018, and at the Taste of the West Awards in 2019, it was named the Best Cider in the South West, this cider is one to add to your list if you are a big cider fan, even more so in those summer months when you want that refreshing wake up of a drink.
