REQUISITE MAGAZINE

A well-groomed appearance can make a good first impression in both professional and social situations. It can also boost one's self-confidence and self-esteem, guys might not always seem very picky or bothered by it but in reality, we are, our hair and beards are one of the most looked-after parts of our appearance and using the right products to get your look are important.
The Guys over at Murdock London have an incredible range of products to meet all your styling and grooming needs, below is a breakdown of our top four products for your beard care and hair styling

Keeping your beard trimmed and neat is only one part of the story, keeping it healthy is the other and moisturising is the best thing you can do, The Beard Moisturiser moisturises and feeds both the skin below your beard and the beard itself. Hempseed oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter are among the natural ingredients used in the creation of the moisturiser. Together, these elements help to calm and smooth the beard, get rid of itchiness and flakiness, and promote healthy growth. The lotion is easy to use, non-greasy, and has a faintly masculine scent. It is suitable for all types of beards and may be used frequently to keep your facial hair feeling and looking excellent.

Now on to the hair care and styling which starts from the shower until the end result of styling, the best way to create a solid base for hair styling is the blow dry, using this Textured Hair Oil aims to nurture and moisturise your hair while also adding texture and definition. An ingredient blend consisting of Macadamia oil,  and sea buckthorn extract is used to make this oil. Together, these elements strengthen and moisturise your hair, get rid of frizz and flyaways, and bring out its natural texture. The lotion is suitable for all hair types, including coarse and curly hair, and has a mildly masculine scent. It is easy to use and gives hair a smooth, glossy look whether it is wet or dry. To help your hair maintain its shape and hold while styling with other products, this product can be used as a finishing styler but we use it as a blowdrying serum.

Next up is the main styling product, this Textured Hair Cream t gives your hair a natural, low-shine finish while adding structure and form. This cream uses the ingredient Red Sea moss to moisturise and preserve your hair without weighing it down. The product works with all hair types and may be used to create a variety of hairstyles, from messy and unruly to polished and elegant. It is simple to apply and restyle throughout the day, it can be used on dry or wet hair.

To finish up the styling, a spray is our usual go-to product, general hair strap is great for holding everything in place but isn't always great for your hair, this Sea Salt Spray is designed to produce a textured matte finish. Natural sea salt and seaweed extract are both ingredients in this spray, and they work together to give your hair volume, structure and hold without weighing it down or leaving a sticky residue. All hair types can use the product, which can be applied to damp or dry hair. It has a delicate scent that makes you think of the ocean. The spray is easy to use and may be used throughout the day to refresh and revive your hairstyle.

Happy Styling

Skincare is always an important thing, how you do it and what you use makes a big difference, not all products will work for you, and not all ingredients are what you need, so finding something that has a bit of everything to help your skin look and feel refreshed is key, the people over at Particle for men have the perfect combination of products to fit all of your needs and target areas for skincare, not only are using products from the same brand convenient but they are generally designed to work together, making them more effective for your skin, a lot of brands try to recommend pairing this with that and it is for good reason, below is a summary of four items that work perfectly together to help cleanse, refresh and care for your face and neck.

Face Wash

Face washing is an important part of any Skincare
routine because it not only feels good and cleans the skin, but it also gets it ready for the rest of the products you want to use. This face wash is made with a mix of natural ingredients that work together to clean the skin well, open up any clogged pores, and get rid of any oil, dirt, or makeup. The recipe is gentle, but it works well and makes the face feel fresh and energetic, using a mix of Vitamins and minerals to help the skin look healthy and bright. The gel-like texture works well to make a thick foam that is easy to use and clean up afterwards.

Face Cream

The Face Cream is made with vitamins C and E that protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and external stress. Antioxidants like these also help the body make more collagen, which keeps the skin soft and reduces the look of lines as well as ingredients like Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil, which work to fully hydrate the face without making it feel greasy or heavy. Plant products like chamomile and aloe vera help relax and calm the skin, reducing redness and irritation. They also help repair and seal in moisture, keeping the skin soft, smooth, and supple. This means it's great for everyone, even those with the most sensitive skin. The Cream has a  light feel that is easy to apply and quickly absorbs into the skin. It's great for daily use as part of your skincare routine because it doesn't leave any sticky residue or shine behind.

Neck Cream

Now Neck Cream isn't always something we would think of using, but the skin on our necks does differ from our face, it is a lot more sensitive, and you might notice so when shaving around the neck area. This high-tech cream is made to help reduce the obvious signs of ageing, like sagging skin, wrinkles, and fine lines, and gives the skin a more youthful and refreshed look. The cream has a powerful mix of natural ingredients, such as peptides, antioxidants, and vitamins, that work together to feed and hydrate the skin, boost collagen production, and make the skin more elastic. I liked that the cream wasn't greasy and went on quickly. This made it easy to add to my skincare routine. With regular use, I found that it made my neck area firmer and less red. This makes it a great addition to any skincare routine for those who want to take care of their neck, which is often overlooked but is just as visible as their face.

Face Mask

Face masks are a luxurious and relaxing way to treat your face, when you feel it needs a bit more love than usual after a long week. This advanced face mask is made with a strong mix of natural ingredients that work together to deeply nourish, hydrate, and revitalise the skin. The mask helps to clear out clogged pores, cleanse the skin, and reduce the look of acne and other skin flaws. This makes the skin look fresh, toned, and glowing. full of antioxidants, vitamins, and botanicals that are good for the skin, It helps to refill and repair the skin's natural barrier, which makes the skin look healthy and young. The mask's smooth creamy texture makes it feel like a relaxed spa treatment if you know what it feels like, if not, it feels like this mask but with someone else applying it, same benefits though.

This one comes as a bit of an underdog… as my colleagues and I discussed, personally this is my fragrance of choice at the moment. I use a drop at a time as that’s all you need. The way I know is after a shave, wow! does that wake you up, sealing the remaining pores that your block of osmium hasn’t got to and locking my skin away? The perfect blend of citrus to arboraceous notes.

While regarded as a classic or “aged scent”, I have had the “you smell amazing although it reminds me of my grandad” queue with a slightly intoxicated giggle from the girl at the bar.
That sits just fine with me. Its power base notes of patchouli, leather & amber would be what you associate with a masculine loved one. For me, that’s an excellent first impression. Your date will perhaps pick up on the core heart notes, the softness of jasmine subtly mixed in with cedarwood, followed by a slightly overpowering touch of sandalwood.
Now, forgetting opinions from strangers at bars (as that should never matter), we get to this fragrance's interesting personal top notes. The initial application becomes an almost private moment, where the slight tingle fades from your skin, as you are hit with a citrus mixture of scents. It immediately transports you to somewhere Mediterranean almost as if you were standing out over an ancient harbour wall, watching the sun fade away or, perhaps somewhere Arabian looking over a sandy city skyline before going out to dinner. With that feeling of fulfilment and contentment, your hard work is paying off.

Oh, daydreaming of better things to come… Getting back on point, the lemon scent of bergamot offers a mix of light but sharp citrus notes. Most people pick up on this but fail to understand what it truly is, a type of oil extracted from the peel or in technical terms the rind of a dwarf kind of Seville orange.
The violet helps tie in with the lavender with its light innocent note, which makes sense as it’s the flower of the virgin Mary but only briefly, as there is nothing like the naivety of innocence for a brief second before reality hits. The hawthorn & honeysuckle helps sweeten the sharpness of the Spanish Seville, and the mace gives it the slight spicey warm twist and pazazz, which, like the bergamot we touched on earlier, make this bottle, Fahrenheit. Lastly, the chamomile halts the mixture from being overpowering, keeping it classy but subtlety dangerous.

The men's Fragrance Gift guide isn’t really just about gifting for Christmas but also about gifting yourself, who doesn’t want to smell good?

Here are our top 5 picks selected by the team here at The Chapter, the products shown were chosen on their Scent, Sillage and pricing, we have given you a range of pricing here and those prices are listed under each item as well.

  1. Creed – Aventus for him

Launched in 2010 – Creed Aventus is still up there as one of the best Men's fragrances on the market, the Creed Aventus bottle was designed to reflect the shape of hip flask often carried by horsemen of history, the fragrance's top notes include Lemon, Pink Pepper, Apple, Bergamot and Blackcurrant with undertones of Pine apple, jasmine and Patchouli. The Fragrance holds it scent throughout the day, even when Olfactory Adaptation kicks in you still get a soft essence of the scent from time to time. Price starting at £210 50ml

  1. Versace – Pour Homme

This next Fragrance is a bit more light-hearted in scent and on the wallet but is a gentle giant we hope you’ll like. With top notes of Bitter Orange leaves, Diamante Citrus and Neroli Flowers, this fragrance gives off Mediterranean accents with heart tones of Clary sage, Amber and Blue Hyacinth, an overall floral base to the fragrance while keeping the Masculinity of the scent without overpowering, this scent is light but could still be picked up throughout the day. Price starting £60 - 100ml

  1. Clinique Happy – Cologne for men

This next Fragrance didn’t pop up on our radar until it was mentioned to us by a friend and we think it should make the cut. Similar in top notes to the Versace this Fragrance has top notes of Mandarin Orange, Lemon and Lime with Heart notes of Lily, Jasmine and Freesia but interesting base notes of Cedar musk and Cypress, the overall scent is of citrus but you can feel those woody notes pulling through. An interesting scent worth trying out, it stays with you throughout the day and the more you smell it the more levels of scent tone you notice. Price starting £40 - 100ml

  1. Tom Ford - Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua

Next on the List takes its notes straight from the Amalfi coast and when it comes to Tom Ford Fragrances they can either be very powerful or very gentle, if you were to pick up say their Tabacco Oud, it may just be a bit overpowering for you, you decide to look elsewhere but Tomford do have a good balance of Strong and gentle Scents and we have included this one for such a reason, it is more gentle and has a softer summer aroma to it, with top notes of Marine Accord and Bergamot and Mandarin and heart notes of Mint, thyme and Wildflower it gives a good overall level and balance while maintaining that Tom Ford uniqueness that can’t be matched. We have found that Tom Ford tends to last all day and night and not to overdo it, remember you get used to a smell when others still can smell it and these aren’t ones to go over the top on. Starting from £90 50ml.

  1. Jo Malone - Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense

Last but least is this little treat from Jo Malone and one of my personal Favourites, Jo Malone is well known for their beautiful body and bath products but not so much for their men’s fragrances but what they have was worth putting on our list The Cologne has a rich warm scent with top notes of Lavender, heart note of Omumbiri myrrh and a base note of Tonka bean it is well balanced, giving accents of Honey, amber, Vanilla and Almond, making it a wonderfully vibrant fragrance that uplift the senses while giving a naturally gentle aromatic experience. Jo Malone doesn’t have a wide range of men’s Fragrances but with time I am sure they will expand their range. This scent starts at £102 50ml

First off let me start by saying Happy new year, and yes if you are UK-based that means we are back in lockdown yet again, but the best start to 2021 but I have hope that things will get better.

For most of Europe, December through to March is Winter season, its cold, wet, snowy, Even if we are all stuck inside the cold weather can have a big impact on our skin and I for one always see these effects take place, which include dry and cracked skin mainly on my face and hands, they become sensitive and sore. There is always a simple solution to this and that is using hand and face creams/moisturizers. So I have put together a trio to help you and me combat these winter effects and have chosen some great products from one of my favourite brands Madara Organic skincare.

1.Madara melting cleansing oil.

Now you could be wondering why I have included a cleansing product in this and it is simple. You need a clean base to optimize the great properties of other products. If you put a moisturizer on oily, dirty skin, it’s not going to absorb as well and will also lock all that unwanted oil and dirt into your skin. Pretty pointless if you ask me.

This oil-based cleanser works deeply while acting gently on your skin helping to help melt away oil, makeup and a day of pollution.

Formulated using cleansing agents including Vitamin E, Primrose, and almond oil, it not only cleanses deep into the skin removing impurities but also hydrates and soothes leaving you with a nourished and clean complexion.

To use: simply add to dry or damp skin, massage in a circular motion with a little added water and then rinse off thoroughly.

2. Madara deep moisture nourish cream

So now you have a clean base you can get on with the repair work as I like to call it. This Nourish cream is pack full of wonderful ingredients to get your skin feeling 100% again, some of the ingredients included are Jojoba seed oil, cacao seed butter, sea-buckthorn extract and plantain leaf extract.

These ingredients together give up to 24hours of intensive hydration and soothing to the skin, exactly what is need in the cold season, after just one application you will feel a difference, in this weather your skin carves moisture just as much as it does in the sun.

To use simply pump on to fingertips and massage into the skin avoiding the eyes until well absorbed.

3. Madara infusion blanc supreme hydration hand cream.

Now onto the part that gets forgotten more often than most but always needs a bit of tender love and care, Your hands.

I always forget to look after my hands and yet they are used more than any other body part and take a beating in reality. My hands become very dry and cracked and with this they become sore.

This hand cream from Madara packs a punch and makes a real difference from just a couple of uses. The silky-smooth cream quickly absorbs into the skin to instantly soften and hydrate the skin. It combines softening oat extract and essences of jasmine and meadowsweet to restore and soothe those dry and sore areas. The cream is infused with NEURO WELL-BEING BIO COMPLEX + essence of thyme and lemon balm which Stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis; Preventing neuroagein.

To use simply pump onto hands and massage until well absorbed

So there you have it my winter trio skincare. If you haven't used Madara before, I highly rate them and you can find all of the above products at www.Lovelula.com

Hello, Me again.

Firstly I hope you are all okay and doing as well as can be.

I want to talk to you all about something we all hate admitting and yet, at some point or another we will suffer from it. That's right I am talking about bad skin!

Yep it happens to us all, it doesn't matter how much you try to avoid it there are too many factors at play not to get. Myself? I get dry skin or very bad skin almost every month no matter what I use and the factors at play for me are stress, smoking, and city air. Okay, maybe my diet as well.

Some of these can be controlled and are of choice and some can't, it's all about balance and trying to find that medium. If I get out of the shower i exfoliate with a dry brush to get rid of the dry skin every time, moisturizer and products help but this just keeps happening. But that seems to be slowing down thanks to a recommendation from a friend, she stuffs from the same sort of thing and said to try this Necta Perfecta Enzyme Mask by Beegood, and knowing me I wasn't going to say no, I love my products as you can probably tell.

So I picked up a tub from my go-to beauty store (lovelula) and after a couple of weeks of using it I have noticed a big difference in the amount of dry skin I suffer from. The Mask is a multi-tasking youth-enhancing face and body enzyme mask designed to prepare your skin and maximize the use of other skincare and makeup by restoring problematic skin and dryness whatever your age or skin type.

The blam has some strong key ingredients that make it effective in doing what is meant to do they included anti-aging Camelina oil blended with Vitamin E-rich Wheatgerm Oil to combat free radicals while improving the skins elasticity, British honey, beeswax & 100% natural plant waxes combine to help plump the skin & look in moisture protecting the skin from dehydration which can lead to dry skin issues.

Bee good has a few recommendations on how is best to use the product which is as follows.
Facial complexion booster Apply sparingly to dry, cleansed skin. Leave for the desired time then remove with a damp cloth using small circular movements. 60 seconds - for a flash facial! 5-10 minutes - for a weekly complexion booster Up to 1 hour - for a 'pampering at home' facial treatment Leave it on overnight for an intensive treatment SOS mask Apply sparingly to areas of dry skin and leave for up to 20 minutes. Remove using a mitt or muslin and warm water. For an extra intensive treat for feet, leave on overnight with a pair of cotton socks and wake to baby-soft skin.

It's great to be back to somewhat reality after what can only be called the year from hell.

We have all had our own experiences and issues and many of them we have all in common is not being able to maintain our hair and bodies. This could be anything from not being able to hit the gym to have your eyebrows done. But now we are all able to again to some level we can at least know we are all looking up to our own standards.

But that doesn't mean to lack of home care either, the effects of lockdown not only affected how we look but also how we feel and this can really affect our bodies. For me it has been stressful, this has affected my skin really badly, being red and dry a lot more than what i would consider normal and it has also affected my hair, my hair usually grows rather fast and has plenty of natural volume, but since lockdown that has all changed, so here are two products i have selected that are helping me combat these effects and really can make a difference if you are suffering from the same range of issues.

First up is for the hair and I have chosen a treatment to give the hair a well-needed boost, the product is Madara 3 Min Growth-Boost Scalp Treatment and comes in a 100ml bottle.

The base of this product is Chaterelle Fungi and it is designed to be a quick and easy 3 min simulating pre-shampooing treatment with everything you need to get your hair and scalp back to where it needs to be using a formulation of caffeine, zinc, amino acids and vitamins B3 & B5. These ingredients help to thicken, revitalize, and prevent hair loss.

Second up is the body, for this, you would think it would be a lotion, cream, or moisturize but before applying such things we tend to bath/shower so I feel this is an equally good place to start. The product is Christopher Courtney London Monoi de Tahiti Luxury Spa Bath Shower Gel and comes in a 200ml bottle.

This 2 in 1 is another product packed with ingredients to get your hair and skin all it needs to be back to balance again.

The gel contains Aloe Vera, Hydrolysed Wheat Protein, Honey, Oat & Bamboo extracts as well as Gardenia Absolute, Cinnamon and clove oils.
This formulation together is not only rich in vitamins but its ingredients are designed to naturally relax the skin and mind while soothing not only your skin but your hair as well, keeping moisturizer looked in and gently cleansing.

Each product alone works to help restore, but together they work to balance out everything you need all at once.

Welcome back!

I have been off here a little while due to some tech issues and the world slowly getting back to normal, well we say back to normal but really it is just a mess. I for one have been back to work and working back in the city and have really taken its toll on my skin and it doesn't help to have to wear a mask for hours on end but then it is all for our safety after all.

But I have felt a few different effects which go along with masks and being in the city, one is my skin seem to be producing more sebum (oily feeling) and I also seem to be getting spots, which doesn't happen often at all. I can only think that my skin is 1. got used to the air of being locked in a house for months on end and is now being affected by city air and 2.the mask is collect bacteria from being on my face and then in my pocket.

I cleanse my skin every day anyway and change it up often but something I don't change up or give more thought to is the soap or shower gel I use, so to try and combat this issues I sort to swap this up and go for something I don't use often which is bar soap and something with an added kick to it as well. The product of choice was from Madara and was there Charcoal Detox Soap, the perfect thing for what I need, a detox.

To be honest, having a shower isn't something I need to explain to you guys, I am sure you all know how to do such a thing but the main point is that changing up something small can make a big difference to your skin. This soap may be small but being filled with charcoal gives it a natural and intensely purifying properties, activated charcoal is used in so many products now and that is because it really does work. Charcoal draws out toxins and impurities which gets deep into the skin while still acting gently in the process of cleaning your skin.

I have never really like bar soap but this has made a big difference to how my skin feels and has helped reduce the effects of the city and mask, charcoal ah, what a wonderful thing.

You can pick up this soap at Lovelula.com
