The Men's Christmas Fragrance Gift Guide

The men's Fragrance Gift guide isn’t really just about gifting for Christmas but also about gifting yourself, who doesn’t want to smell good?

Here are our top 5 picks selected by the team here at The Chapter, the products shown were chosen on their Scent, Sillage and pricing, we have given you a range of pricing here and those prices are listed under each item as well.

  1. Creed – Aventus for him

Launched in 2010 – Creed Aventus is still up there as one of the best Men's fragrances on the market, the Creed Aventus bottle was designed to reflect the shape of hip flask often carried by horsemen of history, the fragrance's top notes include Lemon, Pink Pepper, Apple, Bergamot and Blackcurrant with undertones of Pine apple, jasmine and Patchouli. The Fragrance holds it scent throughout the day, even when Olfactory Adaptation kicks in you still get a soft essence of the scent from time to time. Price starting at £210 50ml

  1. Versace – Pour Homme

This next Fragrance is a bit more light-hearted in scent and on the wallet but is a gentle giant we hope you’ll like. With top notes of Bitter Orange leaves, Diamante Citrus and Neroli Flowers, this fragrance gives off Mediterranean accents with heart tones of Clary sage, Amber and Blue Hyacinth, an overall floral base to the fragrance while keeping the Masculinity of the scent without overpowering, this scent is light but could still be picked up throughout the day. Price starting £60 - 100ml

  1. Clinique Happy – Cologne for men

This next Fragrance didn’t pop up on our radar until it was mentioned to us by a friend and we think it should make the cut. Similar in top notes to the Versace this Fragrance has top notes of Mandarin Orange, Lemon and Lime with Heart notes of Lily, Jasmine and Freesia but interesting base notes of Cedar musk and Cypress, the overall scent is of citrus but you can feel those woody notes pulling through. An interesting scent worth trying out, it stays with you throughout the day and the more you smell it the more levels of scent tone you notice. Price starting £40 - 100ml

  1. Tom Ford - Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua

Next on the List takes its notes straight from the Amalfi coast and when it comes to Tom Ford Fragrances they can either be very powerful or very gentle, if you were to pick up say their Tabacco Oud, it may just be a bit overpowering for you, you decide to look elsewhere but Tomford do have a good balance of Strong and gentle Scents and we have included this one for such a reason, it is more gentle and has a softer summer aroma to it, with top notes of Marine Accord and Bergamot and Mandarin and heart notes of Mint, thyme and Wildflower it gives a good overall level and balance while maintaining that Tom Ford uniqueness that can’t be matched. We have found that Tom Ford tends to last all day and night and not to overdo it, remember you get used to a smell when others still can smell it and these aren’t ones to go over the top on. Starting from £90 50ml.

  1. Jo Malone - Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense

Last but least is this little treat from Jo Malone and one of my personal Favourites, Jo Malone is well known for their beautiful body and bath products but not so much for their men’s fragrances but what they have was worth putting on our list The Cologne has a rich warm scent with top notes of Lavender, heart note of Omumbiri myrrh and a base note of Tonka bean it is well balanced, giving accents of Honey, amber, Vanilla and Almond, making it a wonderfully vibrant fragrance that uplift the senses while giving a naturally gentle aromatic experience. Jo Malone doesn’t have a wide range of men’s Fragrances but with time I am sure they will expand their range. This scent starts at £102 50ml
