The Larder

Summary: quaint, authentic and relaxed airy cafe'/restaurant.
Service: table service, takeaway.
Dietary Options: vegetarian, vegan, gluten free
AMBIENCE
This friendly and spacious café in Bethnal Green is attached to the local Hindu center and offers both vegan and vegetarian
options. The staff were very knowledgeable and helped in choosing what
was suitable.
The inside
of the café was filled with vintage wood, warehouse lighting and simple décor giving a
nice homely feel. A glass display counter full of cakes, mains and
juices teased our taste buds.
This place seems very popular with
students and has a nice chilled vibe, most of the people inside were on
laptops or chilling on the sofas chatting. The Larder has a courtyard
with small vintage tables and plenty of greenery surrounding it if you fancied
dining outside.
FOOD
Put aside the usual cafe food you
would be expecting, The Larder offer some very interesting and different dishes
as well as your café classics including coffee, fresh juices, cakes and
pastries. What amazed us where the savoury options. Vegan sausage rolls and tartlets, delicious salted mushroom quinoa hot pot, polenta and baked bean hot
pot, veggie cheese burger and to finish off, some of the best red velvet cake we
have ever had. All of The Larders' dishes were very flavourful with great
spices and herbs used on what would normally be just a standard tasting pastry
or hot pot, overall a great experience with some great food in a lovely
chilled environment
