Ambiance/Atmosphere:

The poetry café is located near the infamous Covent Garden off a quiet little side street- not somewhere you would pass accidentally. Inside the café there is a relaxed, quirky and homely feel; the café was busy with people working away over a cup of coffee and some vegan/veggie lunch and snacks. The café has a community or "club" feel and clearly has many regulars who come back for the food and poetry events that are held in the downstairs area. There is no menu to be taken to your table and all the options are displayed on a black board at the front of the café.

Customer Service:

There isn't too much to say with regards to customer service, you order your food at the counter and everything is bought in reseonable time as it is pre-made. We weren't offered any drinks and had to ask for some water. We received a very brief introduction from the owner, no one came to check if we were enjoying our food or wanted any thing else which would have been a nice touch. We left quite quickly after finishing our meal as we didn't feel particularly welcome.

Food & Drink
1/5
The food is all home-made; simple dishes and 'nice', some slightly bland flavours- nothing incredible or particularly interesting to report however it filled a hole. Sandwiches, soups, stews (which resemble curries rather than stew as they are served with some white rice), we can't comment on the drink options as we were not offered any.

An okay cafe in Covent Garden with vegan and vegetarian options, nothing particularly special and the prices are the same as you would pay in other vegan and veggie establishments that do better food and have better customer service. If you are an attendant of the poetry club however, the cafe serves a purpose of filling you up before the reading however we would not return to the cafe for a meal again.
